അങ്ങനെ കുറെ വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ശേഷം സിദ്ധിക്ക് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത സിനിമ.അടുത്ത കാലത്തിറങ്ങിയ ഏറ്റവും മോശം സിനിമകളില്‍ മുന്നില്‍ നില്‍ക്കുന്ന ഒന്ന്.ഈയൊരു പടം തട്ടിക്കൂട്ടാന്‍ സംവിധായകന്‍ ഒരു വര്‍ഷത്തില്‍ കൂടുതലെടുത്തത് എന്തിനാണെന്ന് മനസ്സിലായില്ല. കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രേക്ഷകന്റെ സാമാന്യബുദ്ധിയെ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യുന്ന തരത്തിലുള്ള സിനിമയായി മാറി ഇത്.
ഒരു മുഴുനീള ബോറന്‍ പടം എന്ന് നിസ്സംശയം പറയാം.എന്താണ് ഒരു നെഗടീവ്‌ എന്ന് ചോദിച്ചാല്‍ ഈ പടം മുഴുവനും എന്താണോ അതാണ് നെഗടീവ്‌. തീരെ നിലവാരമില്ലാത്ത പാട്ടുകള്‍. തീരെ നിലവാരമില്ലാത്ത കഥയും തിരക്കഥയും. ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനമായി തോന്നിയത് സംവിധാനം തന്നെയാണ്. സംവിധാനം എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞാന്‍ കുറച്ചു സീനുകള്‍ ചേരും പടി ചേര്‍ക്കുക. പിന്നെ ബോറടി വരാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുള്ള ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ ചില അറുബോറന്‍ പാട്ടു സീനുകള്‍ ആകാം.പിന്നെ അല്പം എരുവും പുളിയും ആയി ചില സെന്റിമെന്റല്‍ സീനുകളും.ഇതും ശരിയായില്ലെങ്കില്‍ മലയാളികള്‍ ഒരിക്കലും കാണാന്‍ സാധ്യതതയില്ലാത്ത 'കുച്ച് കുച്ച് ഹോതാ ഹെ' പോലുള്ള പടങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള കുറച്ചു മോഷണവും ആവാം.ഇനി നായകനും നായികയും ആരെന്നുള്ളത് ഒരു പ്രശ്നമേയല്ല. എങ്കിലും നയന്‍താരക്ക് മാര്‍ക്കറ്റ്‌ ഉള്ളത് കൊണ്ട് നയന്‍താര വരട്ടെ. കുറച്ചു കരച്ചില്‍ സീനൊക്കെ ഉണ്ടെന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ കക്ഷി മലയാളത്തിലേക്ക് വന്നാലോ. അങ്ങനെ അതും റെഡി.ഇനി പ്രഭുദേവയെ ഒന്ന് വിളിച്ചു നോക്കിയാലോ.കക്ഷിയും റെഡി. ഇനി സിനിമക്കു പേര് വേണം. പതിവ് പോലെ ഒരു ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് പേരും കണ്ടെത്തി. ബോഡി ഗാര്ഡ്.ഉള്ളത് പറയാമല്ലോ,ഡാന്‍സ് സീനുകള്‍ ഒഴിച്ച് നിര്‍ത്തിയാല്‍ ദിലീപ്‌ തന്റെ റോളില്‍ മികവ് കാണിച്ചു.നയന്‍താരക്ക് കൊടുത്ത ഡബ്ബിംഗ് കരച്ചില്‍ സീനുകളില്‍ പാളിപ്പോയി.എന്നിരുന്നാലും നയന്‍താരയുടെ അഭിനയവും നന്നായിരുന്നു.
ഒരു കാര്യം ഇപ്പോഴും മനസ്സിലാവുന്നില്ല, എന്നാണ് നമ്മുടെ സംവിധായകര്‍ കാമ്പസില്‍ വെറുതെ ആടിപ്പാടി നടക്കുന്നത് ഒഴിവാക്കാന്‍ പോക്കുന്നത്. നമ്മുടെ പഴയ സംവിധായകര്‍ തമിഴിലും മറ്റും ഇറങ്ങുന്ന പുതുമ നിറഞ്ഞ പ്രമേയങ്ങളും മറ്റും കാണുന്നില്ലെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. സിദ്ധിക്ക് ആണെങ്കില്‍ പഴയ ചില മലയാളം പടങ്ങള്‍ കാണുന്നത് നന്നായിരിക്കും.

Anatomy of a murder(1959)
A man who jealous about his wife. The wife who is so beautiful that anyone look her when she pass by and she dont hesitate to show her beauty. A clever lawyer and a previous District Attorney who fails to make good income for his office and to pay for his secretery and his drunkard old aged friend. A director who knows how to handle a clever story. A story that doesnt put twists or doesnt even pretend to be something else. A good adaptation of novel. Sharp set of dialogues that at times funny, at times with dual meaning and every time liverages the mood of the film. A top notch performance by James Stewart and other costars. A collection of these makes a brilliant film set in the end of 50's. The courtroom drama was the best in '12 Angry Men'. While that one concerned and concentrated on the verdict of Jury and how each type of juror will effect in a decision, this one concentrates more on the perspective of arguments and doesnt even bother to look how the jurors have come to the final verdict. The character of judge is acted by a real life judge, which does give that film an authentic appeal. The film signifies on the fact of how a cunning lawyer can drift the truth from one point to another and thus affect the jurors.
The film revolves around the case people vs Federick Manion, where he is found guilty for shooting and thereby killing an innkeeper named Quill. The guilt was straightforward and was a first degree murder with a possibility of maximum punishment. Lawyer Paul Beigler takes his case and the courtroom drama starts.The reason for Manion to shoot the innkeeper was that he raped his pretty wife. Lawyer says that you cant defend the judgement by saying humanity, as he didnt shot him just by seeing him raping his wife,rather walking all the way to the Inn to kill him. So they decides to say guilty but under temperal insanity.Thus with the help of a Psychiatrist they start defending by arguing he had 'irresistable impulse' while came to shoot him. Thus the courtroom drama begins and takes it turns through both the sides making the viewer to adhere to the seats by delivering sharp dialogues and delivering it in a most convincing style.The procedures in courtroom seemed to be proper and the reasons were seemed to be very authentic.And how the hell one could think the defendant pleading for his release by acknowledging he had done it and still doesnt use any twists or dramatic situations to help the story.Please dont hesitate to see the film because it set in the 50's. It can exceed your expectation clearly.

Last life in the Universe(2003)
One amongst the best foreign movies i have ever seen.What was the best of the film 'Last life in the universe'? I dont know. But i know some things for sure in the movie that are outstanding. The director Pen-ek Ratanaruang, the actor Tatanobu Asano and the cinematographer Doyle( I already seen some films where Doyle had his contributions. 2046 was one such film where i saw one of his great work). They work together to produce a masterpiece out of a good story. The film is a bit slow in pace which i thought was perfect for this surrealistic movie. The story length is very small.Obviously the film is a about grief(or more appropriately its melancholic).
Tatanobu's character is kenji who doesn't found anything interesting in the world and fantasize to have suicide.However he is interrupted on his every attempt. He has got some peculiar characters, a bit different on perspective from others and mostly he seem to be silent. At a time in his present life a turn of tragic events occur where he loss his brother on a fight with gangsters and a girl who seem to have developed an interest(not anything big though)in him also dies. The events make his life's path cross over with a girl named Noi.From then on the film takes a surrealistic path, where the cinematographer does the fine work in creating a lot of images that is so beautiful. The meeting slowly changes the life of Kenji and he soon recognize that he want to leave his current life. He starts to live with her and they develop a romantic relationship and the events change again to give a dramatic approach to the climax of the film.You may be guessing that the story isn't giving anything new or say big as it supposed to be, but not, the difference is made by the 3 factors as i said above. Its one of my favorite movies and if you are not a causal viewer of cinema its for you. You wont be disappointed.

3Idiots(2009)
The best movie released in the year 2009. Also could be put among the best films ever released in hindi. The film is bollywood-ish at times and when the story moved to the climax, it become a bit over melodramic. But still the film sustained its charm throughout the movie. It was a fantastic experience to watch a movie like this. The direction was creative. The script was too good and the acting was too good as well. It could be put as Hirani's best film as it deviates from the treatment he given to his other films, however some common elements are still there. They may be above 30 and 40 years old, but their chemistry was too good that you would feel they are real youngsters. Amir Khan gave one of his best performace in this movie, where he gives the character a special energy. The film is humorous throughout. From the first scene onwards you start laughing and the laugh sustains and ends in a laughter too. One thing which should be appreciated is that those so many emotional sequence where given the deserved importance and at the same time the jokes were put side by side to the scene so that no emotional scenes would ever result in tears. Ultimately even though its complete humorous package, it is almost fresh in the story(thanks to chetan bhagat and the script writers), and fresh in the treatment as well.
